Raster Art
- Known ad bitmap art
- Composed of pixels (or tiny squares), grouped together to make one complete image
- When scaled larger, the image will look pixelated (or jagged)
- Acceptable DPI is dependent upon produced graphic size and probable viewing distance. For most projects, we recommend a minimum of 150 dpi
Vector Art
- Can be scaled to any size while maintaining quality
- Known as line art
- Vector artwork is preferred (unless printing photos)
To ensure your designs are produced at the highest quality, we always recommend submitting a vector file. Vector files (.PDF, .AI, .EPS) allow us to scale your artwork without losing clarity, making them ideal for large-format signs and banners.
While we can work with raster images (like .JPG or .JPEG), they may appear pixelated when enlarged, especially if they aren’t high-resolution (300dpi). The visibility of pixelation can vary depending on viewing distance, but for the sharpest results, vector files are preferred.

I do not have a high-res image to send. What now?
We’ll do our best with the files you provide, using our resources to make your sign look as clear as possible. However, low-resolution images may still appear pixelated. If you need artwork created or re-created in high-resolution format, our graphic design team is here to help bring your vision to life!
